Today on Conversations, Melissa Montana welcomes artist Emerson Day! Emerson shares about her journey in the music industry and her opportunity to sing with Micah Tyler. Writing songs by the time she was 8, she drew inspiration from the sounds of southern rock guitars and an old church piano. Growing up on her family’s farm in Southern Maryland, she spent countless hours sitting outside, guitar in hand, singing to the rhythm of nature. God planted a song in her heart long before she even recognized it. Though her early ambitions were rooted in athletics and a career in law enforcement, Day graduated from university as a decorated lacrosse player with a degree in Homeland Security. But it wasn’t until she started leading worship at a small church in North Carolina that the true path God had in mind for her became clear. One Sunday, while leading worship, someone gave their life to Christ at the altar right in front of her. That moment affirmed Emerson’s calling to Christian music, and from then on, she never looked back. You can find her music and more on social media at Emerson Day Music.
