A year ago, nine year old, Sammie Vance, had a vision for every school playground in Indiana having a “Buddy Bench” where children who are feeling alone or sad can sit. When a classmate sees a student sitting on the bench, they know to go over to talk with that student.
The benches are made from bottle caps that have been melted down into the benches. It takes 400 pounds of caps to make one bench.
