This summer, we watched God bring more than 500 people into nights of unified prayer and worship, many who are youth and young adults. Even more encouraging, three of those nights were led by youth and young adults themselves. We aren’t just inviting the next generation to participate – they are stepping up to lead! These young hearts are discovering that prayer isn’t just something adults do. They have a voice. They have a place. And God is inviting them to pray for their city.
In addition to our youth, Tuesday nights at PrayerWorks have become a dedicated space for college students to gather, pray, and grow together. And on the weekends, you may find yourself praying alongside Daisy, one of our faithful intercessors who is 80+ years young. Her wisdom, faithfulness, and wonder remind us that a life of prayer only grows richer with time.
This is the beauty of PrayerWorks.
A sixth grader can pray alongside an 80-year-old.
A college student can worship alongside a seasoned intercessor.
A young adult can lead worship while someone who has followed Jesus for decades lifts their voice in prayer.
Different generations. Different stories. One God. One city. One unified place to pray.
And this is exactly why opportunities like our upcoming One City Prayer Walk are so important.
One City Prayer Walk | October 4 at 3pm
On October 4 at Lawton Park, as part of Love Fort Wayne’s One City Week, we invite you to join us and many other churches throughout our community for the One City Prayer Walk. We want our community to see at least 75 churches represented as we walk together along the rivers of Fort Wayne, praying for our city, our families, our churches, our schools, and our leaders.
This is more than a prayer walk. It is a picture of the Church we long to see, with every generation walking together, praying together, and believing together for the good of our city.
At PrayerWorks, we believe every generation has something to give and something to receive. The young need the wisdom of those who have gone before them, and the older generations need the faith, passion, and fresh perspective of those coming behind them. It takes a city to pray for a city.
And we are grateful that God is allowing PrayerWorks to be one of the places where those generations meet.
