Join Melissa Montana for Conversations as she welcomes Michelle Kimpel, Director of Sports & Recreation for Turnstone Center. Michelle shares exciting details about a historic milestone for Fort Wayne — the city will host the 2025 WPV Sitting ParaVolley World Cup from October 12–18, 2025, at Turnstone’s Plassman Athletic Center. Michelle discusses the significance of this first-ever U.S. hosting of the global competition, which will bring together nearly 500 athletes, officials, and delegates from over 20 countries. The event, made possible through a partnership with World ParaVolley, Visit Fort Wayne, and the City of Fort Wayne, is expected to generate a $2.3 million economic impact for Allen County and serve as a qualifier for the LA 2028 Paralympic Games. This tournament will be live-streamed worldwide, powered by community volunteers, and why local leaders see this as a powerful moment to showcase how sports can unite, inspire, and leave a lasting legacy.
