Serves as GIS/Beacon (hereinafter, GIS) Coordinator for the Department of Infrastructure & Development, responsible for maintaining geographic information system (GIS) in conjunction with other city departments, Wayne County Government, developing applications, and supporting users. Also is responsible for providing comprehensive plan implementation assistance, long-term project oversight, and communication for civic outreach events and programs.

Job Type: Full Time
Baccalaureate Degree in geography, urban planning, public administration, information science, or related area is required. Advanced degree with one to three years in municipal government preferred.
Working knowledge of and ability to make practical application of principles, practices, terminology and technology of GIS implementation and maintenance, including, but not limited to, object-oriented and linear programming, relational databases, computer operation, hardware maintenance, and software support.
