IT Technical Specialist

Outstanding Fort Wayne company is seeking an IT Technical Specialist.  Must be a team player that thrives on multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.  Exceptional customer service and communication skills are a must along with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

The IT Technical Specialist is responsible for maintaining and upgrading the network of the company including Domain controllers, servers, routers, and computers.  This position provides fundamental to intermediate levels of support. Support issues are not standardized and require independent thought and problem solving to resolve.


Respond to internal support requests. This involves problem determination and implementation of changes to hardware and/or software. This may be over the phone, remote configuration, or onsite configuration.
Systems support includes:

Printers in a network environment
End user devices including desktops, laptops, and mobile equipment
Email and backup systems
Servers, Networks, and Firewalls
Opening Support tickets with third-party vendors when necessary
Perform Ethernet/Network troubleshooting

Implement internal projects including the deployment of new equipment and technology.
Other duties as assigned


Exceptional Knowledge of Windows Desktop Operating Systems
Exposure to Windows Server Operating System
Working Knowledge of Network and Internet technologies: Email, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
Experience using Microsoft Office 365 products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Power Point)
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
Experience with the following is a plus:

VPN tunnels and Cisco Routers
Virtualization Technology (VMware/Hyper-V)
SQL Query Programming
.bat scrips or power shell scripts
Dell Servers, Storage, Switches, and Firewalls
TeleCom/Voice/VoIP systems

Able to lift up to 30lbs.


2-4 years of experience supporting end users and/or network administration is preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience.

Industry certification such as A+, Network+, MCP, MCSE, VCP, etc. preferred but not necessary
