Summary:  The Development and Communications Coordinator reports to the Director of Development and Communications with the primary function to support the development and communications strategies to create awareness and support of RMHC of Northeast Indiana.  This position will assist and coordinate aspects of donor development and fundraising, communications, branding

Reports to: Director of Development and Communications

Status: Full Time (Non-Exempt)

Job qualifications:

Minimum of an Associate’s degree or the equivalent of 4 years’ relevant experience.

2+ years in development with working knowledge of fundraising concepts including cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

Experience with special events, principles of direct mail fundraising and planned and recurringgiving.

Must have organization and time management skills, and prioritize work load accordingly.

Proficiency in Windows 7, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Publisher as well as database programs. InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite experience aplus.

Experience communicating and presenting to individuals or corporations while representing the RMHC of Northeast Indiana in a professional manner.


Solution oriented, attentive to detail, creative and flexible.  Ability to maintain highest level of standards in development and fundraising while adhering to ethical principles, acting with discretion and confidentiality.  Sensitivity to the unique needs of RMHC families and volunteers. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.  Ability to listen and communicate professionally and in a timely manner.


Assist in the development and execution of the RMHC Development Plan to meet funding goals, secure new donors and successfully steward current donors.

Assist with donor prospect identification and conduct prospect research as requested.

Coordinate lists for direct mail and special eventcampaigns. *

Manage donor recognition activities including: donor stewardship calendar, timely and on-going personal/written contact with donors/potential donors. *

Assist with grant writing, research and follow up reporting.

Communications & Branding:

Assist in the development and execution of the RMHC annual communication plan including, but not limited to, social media, newsletters, annual report, PSAs, mass direct mailings, email communication, press releases, and marketingcalendar.

Manages social media, including creation and implementation of calendar, postings and follow up. *

Coordinate materials for newsletter, e-newsletters, audio-visual presentations to ensure timely production and distribution. *

Maintain communication calendar. *

Coordinate promotionalmaterials.

Capture family moments and stories to share on social media/e-news. *

Maintain and update website including monthly audit ofwebsite. *

Utilize RMHC Radar Resource Library to ensure our Chapter is in alignment and compliant with all Branding Guidelines set forth from RMHCGlobal. Additionally, stay up to date on information and opportunities to align with Global initiatives.

 Ronald McDonald Care Mobile:

Manage relationships with RMCM site partners, including, but not limited to: sharing promotional materials, meeting with site team, making site visits to capture testimonials, and conduct follow up after care days.


Assist in/Manage all aspects of RMHC’s major events – Ride RMHC, Rhinestone Rodeo and Team RMHC.

Assist in securing and communication with sponsors andparticipants.

Coordinate with venue management and vendors.
