Job Summary: Primary responsibilities include providing a safe and developmentally appropriate day care environment and activities for young children between the ages of 2 and 5. This is an $8 an hour position and there are no benefits, except those that come from doing what you enjoy. This is a half-day position, approximately 11:45 until possibly 5:30. The position will begin September 5, continuing until May 17. The number of days a week is flexible based on your availability.  We are a faith-based ministry.

Key Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                   Supervising lunch and rest time
Provide developmentally appropriate activities
Become familiar with emergency procedures and protocol
Uses appropriate judgment to act in the best interests of students at all times
Clean and sterilize equipment and toys daily
Ensure cleaning supplies are out of reach
Supervise children at all times
Treat children in a respectful manner
Comfort children in times of need.
Encourage children
Adheres to Taylor Chapel Preschool policies and procedures

Education and Experience Requirements:                                                                                                             High School Diploma or GED
Early Childhood Education college credits preferred
At least one year of experience working with young children

Skill Requirements:                                                                                                                                           Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Team work skills
The ability to multitask and take on different roles
Leadership Skills
Customer Service skills in interactions with parents and guardians
Enjoy being with and playing with children                                                                                                           Basic familiarity with concepts and practices of developmentally appropriate teaching practices

Fingerprint Clearance and Background Check
Child Abuse and Maltreatment Certification (online training)
