Casual Office Nurse / Certified Medical Assistant
Mercer Health currently has an opportunity for a casual Office Nurse/ Certified Medical Assistant to work for their various MEDF Physician Office Practices on an as-needed basis. This position reports to the Physician Office Coordinator.
Demonstrates ability to exercise effective clinical reasoning related to the assessment, care, delivery and evaluation of patients of all ages and in a variety of specialties.
Demonstrates effective communication skills to facilitate patient knowledge and understanding.
Effectively communicates with physicians, co-workers, patients, and families.
Demonstrates effective problem solving skills in role and shows initiative to meet needs of provider, team members and patients without direction.
Demonstrates competency with applicable policies and procedures as outlined in the Orientation Program prior to the completion of orientation.
Required to become skilled in the EPIC Electronic Health Record System.
Job Type: Part Time
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing/College of Nursing or Associates Degree in Medical Office Assistant required.
Current Ohio RN or LPN licensure or Certification as a Medical Office Assistant required.
ACLS & PALS certification desirable
CPR/BLS certification, required within 90 days of hire
Physician Office experience, a plus.
EPIC Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.
Ability to work independently and as a team player, to exercise good judgment and successfully manage a variety of tasks.
Ability to think critically including interpretation, analysis, and evaluation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize care in handling various patient loads.
Computer and keyboarding skills
Occasionally lifts and carries weights up to 50 pounds
