Support Guatemala Trip

You can be a part of a life changing missions trip to Guatemala without even leaving the state.
We’re excited about the doors that have opened for a team of 24 people, led by STAR 88.3 and Compassion International to go on a missions trip to Guatemala, July 26 - Aug. 1. Each team member feels called to go and honored to get to serve these precious children and their families. These children live with their families on dirt floors, no running water and no electricity. They need the hope of Jesus and love from us to have a vision for their future to be better. All the team members are raising money for their expenses. If you feel led to support this outreach you can call Michelle Sinn at the station at 260-483-8236 or email her at michelle@star883.com. She will respond to you and get your information. Your gift is tax deductible when you write out a check to STAR 88.3. Write Compassion Intl. in the memo or Michelle will get back to you to get your credit card information processed. You can also send a check to STAR 88.3: 8 Martin Luther Drive, Ft. Wayne, IN 46845.
We thank you for your investment into these precious lives. We also would ask that you pray for this missions trip and the team that’s going. We will be sending reports and pictures when we go.
Sharing HIS hope,
Melissa Montana
And...if you missed out on our fall campaign, STAR 88.3 still invites you to sponsor a child in Guatemala. There are 125 children in one specific village that we know need sponsors, and we know this entire village can be changed by all of us here in Northeast Indiana. Click here to sponsor a child.
Watch the videos below to hear the stories of these special children. Our own Melissa Montana adopted her daughter, LaShay, from Guatemala 14 years ago. Click here to see the faces and learn more about these precious children that need your support. Below are pictures and video from Melissa's trip to Guatemala last summer.
When you sponsor a child, it makes prayer time before a good meal possible. So sweet!

The link now seems to be sending to a Compassion page that doesn’t have all the students from that center. Do we need a new link?

We missed the boat last week during the Compassion supporting of the 150 children in the Guatemalan village. We saw the picture of Yadira (ID GU9490380) and was wondering if she is part of the village and still available to be supported? We would like to sponsor her if she is still available. Thank you for your help. Lon and Gwen Keaton

God has been working on my heart with your effort in Guatamala. I listen to Star 88.3 whenever I am in the car and have somehow (God thing I mean) been “forced” to belive that this is something I am suppose to do.My own situation is so trivial compared to what these children are facing. So, I started searching by birthdays and age (youngest) and then just for girls and had no matches, so I decided to look for the oldest child who could learn and then teach the younger kids!! He could be a LEADER!! So I am now sponsoring Jose Manuel Sosa Perez who is 9 years old. Thank you for partnering with God on this mission and allowing me to be a part of it. :o)

I am interested in the Guatamala trip this July. I’ve been on a previous mission trip as the parish nurse at our church. I’ve also had Red Cross training. Please advise. Thank you.
Blessings,
Cheryl Walker
