Judy Tillapaugh - 2018 IPFW Health Fair
IPFW's 29th Annual Health Fair will take place this Wednesday, March 28 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the IPFW Wald Student Union and the International Ballroom. Today, Judy Tillapaugh, IPFW Wellness/Fitness Coordinator, informs us of all the activities involved with this year's health fair. The fair will include over 90 vendors and will provide over 30 health screenings, therapy dogs, massage therapy, and education.
Most screenings are free, with some having a nominal fee. Some screenings include: blood pressure, cholesterol and lipid profile, blood sugar, diabetes, body fat composition, depression, and hearing.
In addition, there will be cooking presentations that will include samples and recipes. Presentations will include preparing healthy lunches on the go, fueling the athlete, freezing fruit and veggies, and making salads in a jar. Attendees can also experience free exercise classes in yoga and office exercises. The main take away of the health fair is for attendees to learn how to take action to make healthy life style changes that will lower risks for chronic health problems.
