Dion Elmore - National Day of Prayer
The first Thursday of May is recognized by law as the National Day of Prayer. Dion Elmore, Chief Communications Officer for the National Day of Prayer Task Force talks with Melissa Montana today about the history and purpose of National Day of Prayer.
The National Day of Prayer was signed into law by President Harry S. Truman in 1952. The purpose of National Day of Prayer is to invite people of all faiths to pray for our communities and nation. Dione suggests that we ask God to lead us in how to pray. Praying for our community leaders, business leaders, educators, and administrators is vital as well as praying for our nation's leaders.
