Dennis Buterbaugh - Motorcycle Awareness Month
Dennis Buterbaugh, Executive Director of Communications & Marketing for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Indianapolis informs listeners of the importance of motorcycle safety on the roadways. In 2016, 98 motorcyclist were killed in motorcycle crashes in Indiana. Awareness is the key to reducing these crashes.
The most important thing for car drivers to know is that they play a key role in motorcycle safety by looking for motorcycles in blindspots and not driving too closely to motorcycles. At intersections, car drivers need to look twice for motorcycles in each direction before proceeding.
