25-year anniversary of St. Mary’s fire
If you were in Fort Wayne 25 years ago, we're coming up on the anniversary of the lightning strike and fire at St. Mary's church downtown. The church was rebuilt, but they didn't know until later that two of the three steeple crosses had been salvaged in the rubble. The company that took care of the demolition had them in a storage warehouse and they will be officially reinstalled during a service on the 25th anniversary on September 2nd.
