On September 19th, thirty local students will be honored at the 360AWARDS. The 360AWARDS is an annual event directed by the RespectTeam, a local non-profit that speaks to middle school and high school students about the importance of self-respect and respect of others. This year’s event is more than double the size of last year’s event. “I was pleased to see how many nominations came in this year. I think the word got out after last year’s event and the increase of scholarships that will be given out this year was also a draw,” commented the director, Amy Hanna. Nominators were asked to pick a student who is making a positive difference in their homes, their schools, and in our community. Five of the nominated students will receive $1,000 scholarships at the event, courtesy of Parkview Health. All of the students will receive a crystal award, courtesy of Indiana Signworks. The public is encouraged to attend this event to support the efforts of the RespectTeam and also to support the nominated students. The event will be held at the MIRRO Center, beginning at 6pm. Tickets are $25 and include dinner, a silent auction and the awards’ ceremony. Registration is at www.RespectTeam.com/360awards.
