Ladies Day, May 28th 12-6 Shoaff Park Conklin Pavilion. Totally Free.
The mission of Ladies’ Day is to bring the women of the community together in a day filled with health awareness, fun activities, and vendors who share the love of women’s empowerment and well-being.
The idea began when two friends who were faced with drastic body change realized that they were not alone in this struggle of body acceptance. They were still the same ladies they always were regardless of their external appearance. The journey of body acceptance is riddled with new things and trying to figure out the “new normal”. As a whole the American society is not encouraging or supportive of a flexible, healthy body image. The two friends, determined to change this mindset one lady at a time decided it would be best to start with the fellow women of their home community. The friends want this day to love on women; giving them the tools to make sure they are healthy and feel confident about the image they see in the mirror. These two friends know that there is nothing more powerful and beautiful than a woman who is confident in her own skin.
As of today we have a date and location secured. The location has both an indoor space and an outdoor space so there is room to explore and spend the day if one is so inclined. There will be vendors and health care stations in the pavilion with a DJ, yoga, face painting, henna art, and food trucks around the lawn. While this event is woman-centric we invite all community members to come regardless of gender or age. Our event unlike others hosted throughout the year locally is free to the public and open-air; no need to feel pressured to see it all or beat the crowd.
We hope several hundred community members join us throughout the day and kick off summer in the best way possible; feeling awesome about themselves!
More specific details on the event include: a blood pressure station, representation from the American Heart Association, Cancer Society and other wellness stations including Tai- Chi, Yoga, Massage, JC Food and Wellness and more yet to come.
Vendors for our sales booths are still being chosen, but as of now include:
The Narwhal and the Manatee
Mary Kay Cosmetics
Damsel in Defense
Melissa Ann Photography
Chloe + Isabel
other businesses that strongly tie to our mission statement.
This is to try to drive younger women to the event and provide a chance to highlight businesses owned by local women.
We have a confirmed DJ, Food truck, henna artist, face painter and so many more artisans that are pulling behind our mission.
